Aloriah: Midgard Progress Update #2.14

Close to 20k scenario points, should be able to get it by next week, if not in the next few days.

Woot! It took some effort but I finally made it. If I am correct, I think I am the first to achieve such.Shout out goes to Mysterious who reminded me that I had not done the 'Public Announcer' and 'Patience Is a Virtue' as yet which took me to over the line.

Things do not always go my way. :( My treasure hunter ran into some ruby dragons in Molten Ashlands when I was not watching.

Ragnarök's weekly attack on the Mother Dragon occurred as normal. This was attack #4 and we did 4.3% damage. If you are interested, you can read the battle report at:
The Mother Dragon is now on 84.1%.

At the end of Midgard round one, I said that the Mother Dragon was way too easy. However, with the current incarnation, it does seem like it is too hard, ie, will take way too long to kill. I used to raid hardcore in the World of Warcraft and our weekly Mother Dragon outings so feel like a raid. The whole thing can take 4-6 hours.
  • Yell at everyone to turn up at the designated spot on time!
  • Ensure we get our relevant buffs.
  • Move together as we chase the Mother Dragon through her lair.
  • Engage and fight!
  • Receive the loot (scenario points and diamonds).
  • Res and port out.

The thing is, the way the current mechanics are, you have to attack all together to make a decent dent, ie, raid. I think maybe some thought should be given to allowing solo attacks to be effective, whether you are in an alliance or not.

  1. Lots of things will happen when the Mother Dragon goes down to phase 2. New buildings will unlock, new unit upgrades will unlock and tons of new items (good ones!) will unlock! This will make the epic fight a little easier each phase! But yeah, she is a tough b***h ;) We are constantly monitoring her and measuring the balance. If she gets too tough we will nerf her but we will have to wait and see!

However, I can officially confirm that you are the leading player in Aloriah and the only one who has reached Elite player! Congratulations! Stay tuned for the realm ranking that is about to be released, then you will all be able to follow the progress of the players' rankings!

  2. Something went wrong with Ragnaröks timing? Draak and a few others jumped in about 2 rounds later, perhaps that is why the damage is alot less (Yes, 1% is alot of MD's life) than previous attacks. Do you guys use the site chat or ingame chat to get the time right?

  3. Yeah, some of us had moved up too fast to the gather point, so the MD moved up and engaged earlier then we expected. We use in-game chat to co-ordinate our moves.

  4. Ah I see, what a shame that your team mates couldn't make it in time. Anyway, reaching the 20K SP milestones seems to not be a probleem for you. Best of luck, and force your team mates to be in time next attack!

Ps: What is the maximum Civilization size?

Regards, Mysterious - Thor member, Midgard player and Guzzer fan ;)

  5. Not sure what the exact civilization size is yet. I'll advise when I get there. Shouldn't be that long. Got 3 villages fully done, 2 to go. Level 10 garrisons!

  6. I dont think the killing blow on the MD will be so important any more, so why dont you let other people help (not like anybody has a chance of catching up to any of you) and speed up the process :)

  7. It's a reasonable suggestion. The reason we don't and still kill others to suppress them, is that we don't want to be complacent. If we let people build up, they could/might attack us in future. If we keep their forces down, yes, the MD will take longer but there will be no chance of attacks at all.
